Both apps — Busymate DevTools on iPhone and iPad, and the Android app — have Support built in. It is a live chat with your mate, Busymate's AI support assistant, with a one-tap hand-off to a human when you want one. You never leave the app, and you never have to explain your setup from scratch.
Opening it
There are two ways in, and they land on the same screen:
- the ✨ sparkle button in the top-right of the home screen;
- Settings → Help → Support.
Support opens full screen, with a Support title and a single close control. Close it and your conversation is still there next time.
What it can do
Ask in your own language. Type a question the way you would ask a person — "why is nothing being decrypted for my app?", "how do I trust the certificate?", "what is PAC mode?" — and your mate answers from Busymate's own documentation and product knowledge, in the language your app is set to.
Hand off to a human. One tap on Request a human moves the conversation to a person. If you are signed in, they arrive with your account details already attached, so there is no round of "which account are you on?".
It already knows who you are — when you are signed in. Open Support while signed in and the chat starts as an identified session tied to your account, so your mate has your context from the very first message. Signed out, Support still works as an anonymous chat, with an optional sign-in if you want your history saved.
It follows your app. Support opens in your app's current theme and language, and it follows both live — flip your phone to dark mode with Support open and Support goes dark with it. It never opens light on a dark phone, and it never comes back in English beside messages you wrote in another language.
Talk instead of typing. Support has a voice mode: tap the mic and speak. The first time, your phone asks for microphone permission — that is the only thing the app uses the mic for, and declining leaves everything else working.
Two things about it are worth knowing, because they are what a voice assistant usually gets wrong:
- It listens, then it speaks — it does not do both at once. While your mate is talking, your microphone is held (the dock says "Speaking… mic paused — talk to interrupt"). That is deliberate: on a phone, the loudspeaker's own voice reaches the microphone, and an assistant that keeps listening through its own reply ends up answering itself. You can still interrupt — speak over it and the mic reopens, judged against how loud the reply is rather than against a fixed threshold, so genuinely talking over your mate cuts in while its own echo does not.
- It speaks your language from the first word. The voice session is anchored to the language your app is set to, so saying "Salut" into a Romanian app is heard as Romanian and answered in Romanian. It used to guess from your first utterance — a coin flip on a one-word greeting. If you genuinely switch language mid-conversation it still follows you.
Switching accounts is safe. If you switch accounts in the app while Support is open, the support chat re-identifies as the new account. The previous account's conversation is never shown to the next person using the device.
Privacy
Two things are worth stating plainly.
Your support chat is not captured. The conversation is deliberately kept outside the app's own capture path — it is never routed through, or decrypted by, the VPN tunnel or the Wi-Fi proxy, no matter what your SSL-proxying list says. See What gets decrypted for what the capture layer does cover.
Signing in does not hand your session to the chat. When you open Support while signed in, the app mints a short-lived, single-use credential just for that launch. Your account session is never exposed to the support page, and that credential cannot do anything except open a support conversation.
If something looks wrong
| What you see | What it usually is |
|---|---|
| Support opens, then briefly shows a blank panel | The chat is loading. It should paint in your app's theme immediately — if it flashes white on a dark phone, that is a bug worth reporting. |
| The chrome is in English, your messages are not | Report it. Support is expected to render entirely in your app's language. |
| "Request a human" seems to go nowhere | The hand-off is queued; a person replies in the same thread. Keep the thread open, or reopen Support later — the conversation persists. |
| Voice mode answers in the wrong language, or repeats itself | Report it. Since the September 2026 update the session is pinned to your app's language, and your mate's own reply can no longer be heard as a new question. |
Contact Us (email) stays available in Settings → Help as a fallback, and reaching support by email is always an option.
